LADIES!!! Reebok Chi-Kaze!!!

With the great response from Swizz Beatz Kamikaze sneaker release, Reebok has answered our question about a Kamikaze just for us with the Chi-Kaze! Dropping next month at retailer Journey's for $90, there are 2 colorways that will release. The first being Steel/Flat Grey-Sonic Green, and the other which I happen to like very much is the Black/Pink/Blaze-Yellow. Both pairs feature the Kamikaze Hexalite outsole and reminiscent straps from the women's classic Freestyle. Expect to see more fresh colorways coming after the initial release!!

John Wall X Reebok ZigEncore release

Sorry for the delay on this, but the posts to follow will explain why..GRINDING!!! On Wednesday, Washington Wizard's John Wall stopped by Footlocker on 34th St. to unveil and talk about his latest collab with Reebok, for the new ZigEncore which is a nice follow up to the ZigTech Slash. Wall invited kids from the Parks & Recreation Dept. and they all had on a pair of his new sneakers and apparel! HOT97 DJ Funkmaster Flex was on the 1 and 2 and asked John various questions about the shoe.

Available in 2 colorways of black/white or blue/white, these sneakers are lighter and more fashionable than the 1st pair from John Wall last year. The toebox is perforated on both pair; the black ones is nubuck, while the white pair is leather. The rest of the upper consists of leather and breathable mesh with patent leather piping on the black pair. Wall even raffled a few pair and gave up the pair on his feet, all with autographs!!

The epic moment at the event was when a kid got up to ask a question and did the Dougie for Wall, who is known for doing the dance himself; then joining the kid in the dance!! He drove the audience crazy with that! Check out MORE PICS!!!

REETHYM OF LITE launch party!

Tonight was the biggest sneaker party ever!!! With Swizz Beatz as Global Director, Reebok can't go wrong!!! The celebration was called "Reethym of Lite" which is truly light, available in the Classic Light or Leather Classic Light. The event took place on 42nd St. at E Space, which is a cool spot. Celebrities from music, fashion, and film all came out to support Swizz Beatz and Reebok's new takeover campaign! In attendance were of course Alicia Keys, Maino, Red Cafe, Jonathan Mannion, Teyana Taylor, Chuck Nice, Jay Z & Beyonce, Pharell, Lloyd Banks, and a host of others who love the Kamikaze sneaker as well as Reebok itself!

Iniside the event were Basquiat t-shirts and Kamikaze's on display, as well as snack servers and a Hennessy bar with my favorite drink of the night..the Black Kamikaze! The event was packed from wall to wall with sneaker & music lovers to support Swizzy & Reebok. Around 10:30 Swizzy took stage and did a few of his hits like Who's Real, On the floor, Coolin, and his new hit International Party, which he premiered the video for too! There were many with Kamikaze's, Pumps, and Classics on, which shows that Reebok is truly a mainstay and has sneakers for just about anyone! Check out the pics below and MORE PICS HERE

Reebok X Swizz Beatz KAMIKAZE Releasing!!!

This is what sneaker culture has been waiting for! The Swizz Beatz collab with Reebok to create the KAMIKAZE sneaker as seen in different colorways on his twitter will drop! THIS FRIDAY MAY 13TH!!!! Each pair is numbered from 1 - 84, making them SUPER LIMITED, and available at ONLY 7 select retailers throughout the U.S. Each pair also has a hangtag autographed by Swizzy himself! Within the box, you will also receive a classic Reebok "R" key chain, and they will sell for $100 in mens sizes...sorry ladies!  These will surely cause a frenzy in trying to get them so get ready to camp out! Swizz Beatz Announces Global Partnership with Reebok at Project, Las Vegas

The internet has already seen several pairs of The KAMIKAZE, the Swizz X Reebok collaboration, and are ready to start adding them to their collections! Yesterday Swizz Beatz made it official by announcing his global partnership with Reebok to put out The Kamikaze real soon. In this unique partnership, Swizz Beatz will actively engage with the brand on many levels, from developing various initiatives to working with product.  His first role will be as the curator of the Reestyle Collective. A group of artistic minds from across the globe, the ReestyleCollective will conceive and produce a wide range of creative content in the realms of dance, music, art and style - the communities in which both Swizz Beatz and Reebok Classics thrive. Swizz himself had on a pair of lilac, pink sequin, and red Kamikazes with a t-shirt adorning artist Basquiat whom he praises highly for his disctinctive art. No word yet on the official release of the Kamikaze but CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO WITH A COUNTDOWN TICKER!

Reebok Design Competition winner! Matthew Choto

Reebok partnered with Local Motors & worked with sneaker fans & dedicated creatives around the globe to select Matthew Choto’s design as the overall winner. His “Reebok Rally” concept will now be turned into a prototype at Reebok’s design headquarters in Canton, MA. He is also invited to spend 3 days at Reebok to see his ZigTech design turned into reality! Great job Matthew!

This is the 1st time a major sports brand has worked with the global creative community from the auto industry to create a pair of ZigTech sneakers which compliment the Rally Fighter – Local Motors’ latest cutting-edge vehicle designed by their online creative community.

Greg Macy came in second place with his “Reebok LMRF Boa-Fighter” and Anthony Colard’s “Local Zig” design took third place.

Swizz Beatz X REEBOK - GRAPE JUICE!!!

OMG! Here is another colorway Swizzy put on twitter and he calls them GRAPE JUICE!!! Juicy indeed! Last month I posted his 1st 2 colorways of the collab with Reebok coming next year and so did many other blogs. If he brings the heat with the kicks like he does with the beats, this will be a problem!

Swizz Beatz X REEBOK?

Yes! In case you haven't heard yet, Swizzy is bringing new life to Reebok in 2011 with these! On twitter he has shown us 2 colorways. The one that stands out the most has a slate gray nubuck upper, white leather eyelets, dark gray leather panel, and white mesh or gortex. The sole is elevated and chunky in a light neon green, yet compliments the sneaker itself. I like what i see in the pics and can't wait for more hi res pics! What is your take on them? Sister 2 Sister Footwear Design Seminar RECAP!!!

It was a great weekend in Boston! Nearly 20 females from NYC & Boston participated in this 1st ever, historic event! Ranging from girls still in HS & college, to customizers, & experienced designers, we all came together sharing our love of kicks & learned from some of the best female designers in the industry! Lori got together with D'Wayne Edwards of Jordan Brand, Sperry Top Sider, Reebok, Puma, Converse, and Nike to make this special event happen.

We started off with introductions & sketching what our vision of our very own sneakers would look like, and we couldn't use logos or similarities from existing brands. As a customizer i truly thought the process wasn't too tedious since I already design, but on already put together sneakers. I was wrong! My initial sketch had the shape of a griffey max and it really wasn't what I was aiming for. However, with some help from the designers I was able to create a better form for the sneaker as well as details like piping, canvas and textured leather!

Each presentation was as unique as the participant behind it! We all took on a foreign task and came out on top!

Thank you to all of the designers who took their time out for us and shared priceless technique and tips! Welcome Sarah Sabino aka "S4" to our Boston team, and a very special extra thanks goes to you Lori for always representing & being a voice for the ladies!

Ok I know we are tired of the pinks, & purples, but these have a lil flair to them if you accessorize properly to me! HELLO KITTY $54.11's!!!

Not familiar with the term $54.11 but know these are Reebok Freestyles? It's ok..just an old term for them because they used to retail for $49.99 and the tax would add up to $54.11 in NYC!!! Again taking one of our favorite ladies, well kitty in this case and immortalizing her on one of our collective sneakers we usually have a pair or two of!
